Windscreen Insurance Malaysia

Protect your car's windscreen and windows against cracks, chips, and shattering. Learn how much windscreen insurance costs, what it covers, and how to add it to your car insurance policy.

What Is Windscreen Insurance?

Windscreen insurance is an optional add-on that covers the cost of repairing or replacing your car's windscreen and windows. In Malaysia, windscreen damage is one of the most common car insurance claims — caused by stone chips on highways, debris, vandalism, or accidents.

Without windscreen cover, you would pay out of pocket for replacement costs ranging from RM 500 to over RM 3,000 for premium vehicles. With windscreen insurance, you pay only the add-on premium (typically 15% of the cover amount) and your claim won't affect your NCD.

Key benefit: Windscreen claims do not affect your No Claim Discount. This means you can fix your windscreen without losing your 55% NCD.

What Does It Cover?

  • Front windscreen cracks and chips
  • Rear windscreen damage
  • Side window damage
  • Sunroof damage (most policies)
  • Stone chip repair
  • Complete windscreen replacement
  • Labor costs for installation

Not covered: Wear and tear, pre-existing damage, and damage caused by illegal activities. Check your policy wording for exact terms.

Check Your Windscreen Cost

Contact your car dealer or a windscreen specialist to find out the exact replacement cost for your model. This helps you choose the right cover amount.

Read Policy Terms

Check if your policy covers all windows (front, rear, sides) or just the front windscreen. Some policies also cover sunroofs.

Compare OEM vs Aftermarket

OEM cover guarantees original parts. Aftermarket is cheaper but may use compatible parts. Choose based on your car's value and your preference.
