How to Renew Your Road Tax
You can renew your road tax through several channels:
- MyJPJ App — The official JPJ app now supports digital road tax. No more physical disc needed.
- Pos Malaysia — Walk into any post office with your IC and insurance cover note.
- MyEG — Online renewal through MyEG portal (small service fee applies).
- Insurance agents — Many offer combined insurance + road tax renewal.
Digital Road Tax: No More Physical Disc
Since 2023, Malaysia has introduced digital road tax through the MyJPJ app. You no longer need to display a physical road tax disc on your windshield. Enforcement officers can verify your road tax status electronically using your plate number.
Combine Insurance and Road Tax Renewal
Many Malaysian drivers renew their insurance and road tax at the same time for convenience. Since road tax renewal requires valid insurance, combining both saves you a trip. Use our calculators to estimate both costs before heading to an agent.
